Blade Characteristics
The blade features a gunome and sharp-edged. The well-defined ashi lines enhance the blade's strength and cutting ability. Minor scratches are visible near the monouchi.
Tsuba (鍔)
The iron tsuba is intricately decorated with a dragon motif, symbolizing power and protection.
Scabbard (鞘)
The red lacquered scabbard shows signs of wear, reflecting its age but still providing adequate protection.
This katana combines traditional Showa-period sword-making techniques with aesthetic features, making it an excellent collectible or martial arts practice weapon.
Historical Background:
Fujiwara Kanefusa , born Kato Koichi in 1900, was the 23rd generation swordsmith in the Kanefusa lineage, which dates back to the Muromachi period. Renowned for his mastery of the Mino, Bizen, and Soshu styles, he helped revive traditional Japanese sword-making techniques.
Kanefusa won several prestigious awards, including honors at the Teiten Exhibition and recognition from Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. He was also chosen to perform a ceremonial forging demonstration for Emperor Showa and crafted swords for notable figures such as the current Emperor and Helen Keller. His legacy continues through the 24th, 25th, and 26th generations of Kanefusa swordsmiths.

・These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
Shipping and Return
- Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
- You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
- We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
- Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
Export Procedure (We manage it)
・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 20 business days to do this procedure.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
