Ein koto katana zertifiziert NBTHK Hozon und zugeordnet zur Shitahara Gruppe von Bushu (Musashi). Mit einer 62,27 cm nagasa und einer sanften 0,76 cm sori präsentiert die Klinge ein würdevolles shinogi-zukuri Profil und eine gut geschmiedete jihada, die in der Beschreibung gelobt wird. Drei mekugi-ana spiegeln Umontierungen über eine lange Dienstzeit wider, wobei gesunde Proportionen beibehalten wurden.

Shitahara-Klingen zeigen oft stetiges Schmieden mit Sōshū-Mino-Einflüssen. Ein Erkennungsmerkmal ist jorinmoku（如輪杢）, kleine wirbelaehnliche Figuren auf der Stahloberflaeche, die auf repraesentativen Werken von Shitahara-Schmieden zu sehen sind.

Schmied - Hintergrund

Shitahara ist das historische Schmiedegebiet im heutigen Hachiōji City (Tokio). Die Schule soll von Yamamoto Norishige gegruendet worden sein und florierte vom Ende der Muromachi-Periode bis ins spaete Edo (spaetes 16.-19. Jahrhundert). Shitahara-Schmiede, bekannt als Shitahara Kaji, arbeiteten zuerst unter dem Hōjō Clan. Die beruehmte Yasushige Linie beginnt mit der ersten Generation, urspruenglich signierend als Chikashige; er uebernahm das Zeichen 「康」 (Yasu) von Hōjō Ujiyasu, aenderte seinen Namen zu Yasushige.

Nach der Niederlage der Hōjō durch die Toyotomi waehrend der Azuchi-Momoyama-Periode dienten die Shitahara Schmieden den Tokugawa als okakae kaji, offizielle Schmiede, die vom Feudalhaus gehalten wurden, und setzten das Schmieden waehrend der Edo-Periode fort. Viele Shitahara-Schmiede trugen den Familiennamen Yamamoto; unter ihnen ist Yasushige besonders beruehmt.

Schulgeschichte

Als einzige Schmiedetradition im modernen Tokioer Gebiet, die koto-Periode Klingen herstellte, ist die Shitahara-Schule historisch und regional bedeutsam. Typische Merkmale sind praktische, widerstandsfaehige Formen; ruhige Haertungslinien, beeinflusst durch Sōshū/Mino; und charakteristische jorinmoku Aktivitaet in der jihada. Dieses Hozon-zertifizierte Beispiel repraesentiert den robusten, einsatzbereiten Charakter der Gruppe in einer gut erhaltenen Muromachi-Aesthetik.

Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
We can NOT cancel an order once, we already applied for the export authorization. As this document is made to customer name.

We have shipped authentic Japanese swords to the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you don’t live in these countries and like to order, please contact us first before purchasing. We normally ship by EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post.

Export Procedure (We manage it)

・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 1 to 3 months for that step.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
