Questo katana, attribuito alla scuola Fujiwara Takada della provincia di Bungo (attuale prefettura di Oita), rappresenta l'apice della produzione pratica di spade del primo periodo Edo. Sebbene non firmato (mumei), la spada è stata valutata e certificata come appartenente alla scuola Takada, una stirpe riconosciuta per la produzione di lame forti e durevoli spesso utilizzate dai samurai in battaglia.

Caratteristiche della lama:
La lama ha una lunghezza di 63,1 cm, il che la classifica come katana, sebbene la sua lunghezza inferiore e la curvatura poco profonda (0,4 cm) le conferiscono alcune somiglianze con le spade tachi. Lo sori poco profondo è ideale per tagli rapidi e controllati. La larghezza alla base (motohaba) di 3,00 cm e lo spessore (motokasane) di 0,7 cm si assottigliano uniformemente verso la punta, conferendo alla lama un tagliente sottile ma forte. Il peso della lama di 640 g assicura che sia abbastanza leggera per movimenti rapidi ma sufficientemente robusta per un uso efficace in combattimento.
Maestro armaiolo e background della scuola:
La scuola Takada è stata fondata da Takada Tomoyuki nel villaggio di Takada durante il periodo Nanbokucho (1334-1338). Questa scuola era nota per le sue lame pratiche, con un forte accento sulla funzionalità e sulla durabilità. Le spade di questa scuola erano molto ricercate dai signori feudali di Kyushu, soprattutto durante il periodo Sengoku quando la domanda di spade forti e pronte al combattimento era elevata.
Con accesso a materiali di alta qualità come sabbia di ferro e carbone dal vicino Monte Sobo Katamuki, la scuola Takada prosperò, producendo lame affidabili che erano paragonabili alle famose spade Bizen e Mino. Questa lama, attribuita al periodo Edo, è una testimonianza dell'eredità duratura della scuola Takada.

- Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
- You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
- We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
- Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
- We can NOT cancel an order once, we already applied for the export authorization. As this document is made to customer name.
We have shipped authentic Japanese swords to the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you don’t live in these countries and like to order, please contact us first before purchasing. We normally ship by EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post.
If you live in the UK, please contact us BEFORE order.
Export Procedure (We manage it)
・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 1 to 3 months for that step.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
