Una raffinata katana firmata da Ryōkai Shigeyoshi, maestro notevole della scuola Tsukushi Ryōkai. La lama presenta un'elegante forma shinogi-zukuri con curvatura vivace e un morbido utsuri che si estende attraverso il ji, caratteristiche distintive del gusto Yamashiro-den ereditato dal lignaggio Rai. È accompagnata da certificati NBTHK Hozon che attestano autenticità, conservazione e valore artistico.

La geometria è sana e le proporzioni sono ben bilanciate per un aspetto dignitoso e classico. Il nakago porta un'iscrizione chiara e nel complesso la lama rimane in molto buone condizioni.

La koshirae è appena realizzata su misura e rifinita in coordinato oro e nero per un'estetica formale:

Tsuba: Piastra a raggiera con bordo traforato a ventaglio e un piccolo sakura in rilievo; riccamente dorata per un'impressione luminosa e cerimoniale.
Fuchi: Fuchi dorata con motivo paesaggistico in rilievo (cresta montuosa) che si abbina al tono della tsuba.
Kashira: Pomello scuro con texture a venatura del legno e finitura a nodo stretto e ordinato.
Tsuka: Ito color oro-marrone chiaro su samegawa bianca; i diamanti mostrano nodi uniformi e prominenti.
Menuki: Disegni mon dorati - un crisantemo, un fiore di ciliegio e uno stemma astratto - posizionati in basso sulla tsuka per equilibrio di presa e visivo.
Saya: Saya in lacca nera lucida abbinata a un sageo dorato per una presentazione armoniosa e formale.
Habaki: Habaki in foglia d'oro (kin-kise) che utilizza approssimativamente 6-10 g di oro spesso con valore intrinseco di metallo prezioso.

Una shirasaya di epoca abbastanza recente è inclusa anche per la conservazione sicura.

Contesto del forgiaiolo

Ryōkai Shigeyoshi è un maestro rappresentativo della scuola Tsukushi Ryōkai, attivo nel periodo Muromachi centrale, in particolare nell'era Chōroku (1457-1460), a Bungo (Ōita). Il suo lavoro artigianale porta il raffinato gusto Yamashiro-den del lignaggio Rai, espresso in forme dignitose e attività di jihada/hamon di buon gusto. Gli esempi firmati di Shigeyoshi sono rari e altamente stimati tra i collezionisti.

Storia della scuola

La linea Ryōkai ha origine a Yamashiro (Kyoto) all'interno del celebre gruppo Rai; Ryōkai è tradizionalmente collegata a Rai Kuniyuki e suo fratello minore Rai Kunitoshi. Nel mezzo del tumulto Nanbokuchō della fine del XIV secolo, i successori si trasferirono a Kyūshū e stabilirono il Tsukushi Ryōkai. I forgiaioli di questo ramo comunemente adottavano il carattere 「能」 (Yoshi) nei loro nomi d'arte (ad es. 重能, 秀能, 宣能), preservando l'elegante estetica Yamashiro-den mentre sviluppavano un'identità regionale.

Shipping and Return

Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
We can NOT cancel an order once, we already applied for the export authorization. As this document is made to customer name.

We have shipped authentic Japanese swords to the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you don’t live in these countries and like to order, please contact us first before purchasing. We normally ship by EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post.

Export Procedure (We manage it)

・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 1 to 3 months for that step.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
