Esta katana, atribuida a la escuela Fujiwara Takada de la provincia de Bungo (actual prefectura de Oita), representa el epítome de la fabricación práctica de espadas del período Edo temprano. Aunque no está firmada (mumei), la espada ha sido tasada y certificada como perteneciente a la escuela Takada, un linaje reconocido por producir hojas fuertes y duraderas frecuentemente utilizadas por samuráis en batalla.

Características de la hoja:
La hoja presenta una longitud de 63,1 cm, lo que la clasifica como katana, aunque su menor longitud y curvatura poco profunda (0,4 cm) presentan algunas similitudes con espadas tachi. El sori poco profundo es ideal para cortes rápidos y controlados. El ancho en la base (motohaba) de 3,00 cm y el espesor (motokasane) de 0,7 cm se estrechan suavemente hacia la punta, dando a la hoja un filo delgado pero fuerte. El peso de la hoja de 640 g asegura que sea lo suficientemente ligera para movimientos rápidos pero lo suficientemente resistente para un uso efectivo en combate.
Trasfondo del herrero y la escuela:
La escuela Takada fue fundada por Takada Tomoyuki en el pueblo de Takada durante el período Nanbokucho (1334-1338). Esta escuela era conocida por sus hojas prácticas, con un fuerte énfasis en funcionalidad y durabilidad. Las espadas de esta escuela eran muy buscadas por señores feudales en Kyushu, especialmente durante el período Sengoku cuando la demanda de espadas fuertes y listas para batalla era alta.
Con acceso a materiales de alta calidad como arena de hierro y carbón de las proximidades del Monte Sobo Katamuki, la escuela Takada prosperó, produciendo hojas confiables que eran comparables a las famosas espadas Bizen y Mino. Esta hoja, atribuida al período Edo, se erige como un testimonio del legado duradero de la escuela Takada.

- Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
- You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
- We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
- Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
- We can NOT cancel an order once, we already applied for the export authorization. As this document is made to customer name.
We have shipped authentic Japanese swords to the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you don’t live in these countries and like to order, please contact us first before purchasing. We normally ship by EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post.
If you live in the UK, please contact us BEFORE order.
Export Procedure (We manage it)
・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 1 to 3 months for that step.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
