Order, Japan Post (EMS) has temporarily suspended all commercial deliveries to the United States.

As a result, we are now shipping through alternative private carriers. Unfortunately, these services are considerably more expensive. Therefore, we kindly ask our U.S. customers to contribute a portion of the shipping cost — $200 per order.

Please note that delivery times will also be longer, as we must obtain a custom shipping quote from the carrier for each sword. We currently estimate a 3–4 month delivery window.

Este excepcional katana Sue-Bizen proviene del período Muromachi tardío (siglos XV-XVI) y ha sido certificado oficialmente como Hozon Token por el NBTHK. La hoja es una espada Ōsuriage Mumei, lo que significa que ha sido acortada desde su longitud original, una práctica común para espadas listas para el combate.

La escuela Sue-Bizen, activa en la famosa región de fabricación de espadas de Osafune, Bizen, produjo algunas de las mejores espadas de corte de Japón. Esta tradición incluye reconocidos herreros como Yoshisada, Katsumitsu, Kiyomitsu, Tadamitsu y Harumitsu. Estas hojas fueron muy buscadas durante el turbulento Sengoku Jidai (Período de los Estados Guerreros), conocidas por su resistencia y capacidad de corte.

El katana presenta un clásico hada Bizen (estructura del grano del acero), combinando itame apretado (grano recto de madera), mokume (patrón de nudos) y nagare (grano fluido). La presencia de un claro utsuri, un efecto de reflejo sombrío, añade mayor profundidad a la apariencia de la hoja.

El hamon es un exquisito gunome-chōji midare, mezclando patrones ondulantes y en forma de clavo. El temple es profundamente basado en nioi con sunagashi (rayas de arena) y nie-suji (líneas de acero endurecido), mostrando el tratamiento térmico maestro de la hoja.

Monturas y Características Especiales

  • Habaki: Único habaki bicolor con chapado en oro en la parte superior y chapado en plata en la parte inferior.
  • Shirasaya: Vaina de almacenamiento de madera lisa de nueva confección, de alta calidad.
  • Condición: Pulida expertamente por un artesano profesional para realzar el trabajo del acero y la estética de la hoja.

Sobre las Espadas Sue-Bizen

La escuela Sue-Bizen, activa en los últimos siglos XV al XVI, fue una de las tradiciones más influyentes de fabricación de espadas en Japón. Conocida como el "Reino de las Espadas de Japón", Bizen produjo un número sin igual de hojas que fueron utilizadas en combate.

Este katana es un ejemplo altamente refinado de la artesanía Bizen de período tardío, presentando una estructura poderosa y amplia y un hamon excepcionalmente hermoso. Recientemente liberado de una colección privada, se destaca como una pieza histórica y funcional notable.

Customs and Taxes

・Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
・Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
・These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.

Shipping and Return

  • Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
  • You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
  • We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
  • Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
  • We can NOT cancel an order once, we already applied for the export authorization. As this document is made to customer name.

We have shipped authentic Japanese swords to the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you don’t live in these countries and like to order, please contact us first before purchasing. We normally ship by EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post.

If you live in the UK, please contact us BEFORE order.

Export Procedure (We manage it)

・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 1 to 3 months for that step.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
