Un katana koto certifié NBTHK Hozon et attribué au groupe Shitahara de Bushu (Musashi). Mesurant 62,27 cm en nagasa avec un doux sori de 0,76 cm, la lame présente un profil shinogi-zukuri digne et une jihada bien forgée louée dans l'annonce. Trois mekugi-ana reflètent un remontage au cours d'une longue vie de service tout en maintenant des proportions saines.
Les lames Shitahara affichent souvent une forge régulière avec des influences Sōshū–Mino. Une caractéristique à surveiller est jorinmoku（如輪杢）—de petites figures ressemblant à des tourbillons à la surface de l'acier—visibles sur les œuvres représentatives des forgerons Shitahara.
Contexte du forgeron
Shitahara est la zone historique de forgeage dans la ville de Hachiōji (Tokyo) actuelle. L'école aurait été fondée par Yamamoto Norishige et a prospéré de la fin de la période Muromachi jusqu'à la fin d'Edo (fin du 16e–19e siècles). Les forgerons Shitahara—connus sous le nom de Shitahara Kaji—ont d'abord travaillé sous le clan Hōjō. La célèbre lignée Yasushige commence avec la première génération, signant à l'origine Chikashige ; il a adopté le caractère 「康」 (Yasu) de Hōjō Ujiyasu, changeant son nom en Yasushige.
Après la défaite des Hōjō par les Toyotomi pendant la période Azuchi–Momoyama, le groupe Shitahara a servi les Tokugawa en tant que okakae kaji—forgerons officiels retenus par la maison féodale—et a continué à forger pendant la période Edo. De nombreux forgerons Shitahara portaient le nom de famille Yamamoto ; parmi eux, Yasushige est particulièrement renommé.
Historique de l'école
En tant que seule tradition de forgeage dans la zone moderne de Tokyo à produire des lames de la période koto, l'école Shitahara est significative à la fois historiquement et régionalement. Les caractéristiques typiques incluent des formes pratiques et résilientes ; des lignes de trempe calmes influencées par Sōshū/Mino ; et une activité distinctive jorinmoku dans la jihada. Cet exemple certifié Hozon représente le caractère robuste et prêt au combat du groupe dans une esthétique Muromachi bien préservée.

Shipping and Return
- Swords are shipped from Tokyo, Japan. We manage all the procedures to export the sword.
- You can't return sword to Japan because procedures are too strict.
- We work with a shipping company that have experience with Nihonto so you don't have to worry.
- Please check the rules of your country before importing the sword. We do not take any responsibility, including (not limited to) refund, due to the above reasons.
- We can NOT cancel an order once, we already applied for the export authorization. As this document is made to customer name.
We have shipped authentic Japanese swords to the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Australia. If you don’t live in these countries and like to order, please contact us first before purchasing. We normally ship by EMS (Express Mail Service) provided by Japan Post.
If you live in the UK, please contact us BEFORE order.
Export Procedure (We manage it)
・All our swords are registered in the Agency for Cultural Affairs as artwork and The Board of Education(Cultural properties protection Committee); therefore each sword has the registration card, issued by the Board of Education.
・After receiving the full payment of the items,we return the registration card and get the permission from Ministry of Cultural Affairs to export the swords legally from Japan. It will take about 1 to 3 months for that step.
・After the receiving the permission, we will inform you by email and send the items immediately.
